Functional Medicine also known as Precision Medicine or Integrative Medicine is private medical services for chronic diseases. Other than the Medicare rebates for consultation, it is a private medical service. This approach is suitable for Chronic allergic conditions, Brain injury, Dementia, Stroke, Interstitial Cystitis, Heart Failure, Coronary Artery Diseases (with or without stent or CABGs), Emotional Illness, Substance Use Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Hormonal issues, Kidney Failure, Support for Cancer patients (before during and after chemotherapy) and a host of other chronic diseases in the young and old.

The initial Consultation and Comprehensive Evaluation takes about 60-90 minutes, depending on complexities of the condition of the patient. During this period, there will be review of the Comprehensive Medical History forms (which patient will have completed before his/her first appointment. After that, there will be review of the old records/results and the discussion of the Vital Scan findings. A thorough clinical examination will also be performed. Apart from the normal blood test, some Functional Laboratory tests will be ordered. At this consultation some conventional medications can be prescribed (which are on the PBS) and Nutrient support may be provided pending the availability of the results.
Explanations are given to patients concerns and a plan of care is developed for subsequent visits.
Follow up visit are usually shorter than the initial visit. It usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes to assess progress and discuss results as they come in.
All our fees are payable at the time of consultation in full by cash, cheque or EFT.
Your Medicare rebate will be processed for you instantly at the reception.
PLEASE NOTE: Health Assessment and Care plans are all bulk billed, so you may benefit from subsidized Allied Health services.

Vital Scan Fee Structure
Vital scan is a painless procedure recommended for all patients coming for Functional Medicine consultations especially on the initial visit. The service is open to all Zenith Medical Centre patients as stand alone service. It is a private service and no rebate is available.
Infusion Services
Intravenous Nutritional Therapy is a process in which vitamins, minerals, trace elements, electrolytes, amino acids and other nutrients are administered directly into the bloodstream via IV drip. Nutritional IV Therapy is a safe, powerful and innovative therapy that treats numerous health disorders, supports our immune system, promotes health and energy, and can help to prevent illness.
If the drip is to treat a particular health condition or as a support for a chronic illness for which there are research evidence, you may be eligible for Medicare rebate ONLY for the consultation. The consultation will be treated as a a general consultation at your initial visit. The drip and the active ingredients are privately billed.
All IV treatments require basic blood work and an initial exam/interview with one of our practitioners before any treatment can begin.
